Club raises Hope........... €600

Trim Athletic Club recently staged a series of 3km time trials. Each runner nominated their preferred charity. At the end of the series a draw was made to choose the charity. Membership 2014

Hi Folks
Over thee past few weeks some club officials and the treasurer David Hawcroft in particular, have been trying to sort out the registrations and memberships for the new season. This is an urgent matter as it has insurance implications for training sessions. It is also important for members taking part in competitions organised by the Meath Athletics Board, Athletics Leinster and AAI. You must be affiliated and registered to a club for such competitions.

You are NOT covered for club activities from Feb 1st onwards if you have not taken up membership or renewed. DOWNLOAD HERE and bring to the next training session.

If you have already sorted out your 2014 membership you can relax and disregard this message.

 Thanks
Ciaran Tobin,
Chairman Trim AC.

National junior victory

Harry Purcell one of the most promising middle distance talents in the country returned to competitive action at the national indoor championships in Athlone IT arena. The young Trim man took the 800 metres title in a time of 1m52s ahead of Daniel Lawlor, Carlow and fellow Meath runner Rob Tully,SOSAC. At the same competition Shane Aston jumped 6.46 to claim the bronze medal in the under 23s long jump. Both athletes will turn their attentions to the AAI Games senior competition next weekend at the same venue.

Ins and outs

The national masters indoor championships took place. Trim had another medal winning performance with Noel Hanratty putting in a brilliant run to finish second to Raheny athlete Pat Timmons in the M60 3000 metres. His time of 11.13 was an excellent age group performance.

The John Treacy 10 Mile road race was staged in very wet and windy conditions in the coastal town of Dungarvan on Sunday. The Trim AC husband and wife duo Sean Murphy and Jane Murphy once again made their way to one of Irelands most popular 10 mile events which this year attracted 1600 entries from near and far. Sean finished in 58 minutes and Jane came home in 1h29m.

Club AGM followed by annual social.

Hello All,
Next Saturday 11 January the club will hold its annual general meeting in the Castle Arch Hotel. The annual general meeting is your chance to get involved in the administration of the club and make an input into its development and direction. All adult members and parents of our juvenile members are encouraged to attend. No one will be asked to take on any impossible or mammoth tasks so feel free to please come along.
Following the AGM the club will hold its annual get together at the same hotel starting time is 9pm. Hot food will be served and the sub is €12 per head. It is important that we have definite numbers for the social so that we can give the hotel an indication of how many it has to cater for. Could you please indicate your attendance (and if you will be accompanied) at the social by return email or text Ann Tobin on 086 1987133 before Thursday. Cheers Ciaran Tobin Chairman / PRO
