Meet and train Tues / Thurs 7.30pm at Castle St. Track
session 6.30pm Wed Claremont Stadium. Juveniles Boyne CS 6pm Monday. Other
sessions arranged during the week among club members including long runs
Sunday and Friday. REGISTRATION FOR 2013 will get underway in early January
with a dedicated registration night.at a venue to be decided.

Sunday is big Run Day for 2 young Trim runners

Two Trim athletes will be running on county teams at the AAI Woodies Cross
Country championships. David O Neill will be on the boys  under 14 squad and
Hannah Gilligan will represent Meath on the girls under 14 squad. Both
runners were members of Meath teams that successfully contested the Leinster
championshipships at Rathdrum and Dunboyne. If you want to witness exciting
cross country action make your way to the AAI Inter Counties Cross Country
Championships in Tattersalls, Ratoath next Sunday 25th November
starting at 11.30am.

Awards fro Trim athletes

The Meath Athletics Board held its 2012 awards presentation and dinner at
the Old Darnley Hotel in Athboy last Sunday evening. Over 250 attended the
ceremony which acclaimed athletic performances by young and old in T & F,
road, cross country during the year. gthe new president of Athletics
Ireland. The President of Athletics Ireland, Professor Ciaran O Cathain and
the President of Meath Athletics Paddy Reilly made the presentations across
the various categories.

In the juvenile section our young runners, jumpers and throwers won the B
Division of the inter club league with just 2 points to spare over Navan AC
after 4 night of competition. EWe look forward to furhter good results next
spring and summer when they will operate in the A League.

The Meath Athletics Board Individual awards for Nathan Grant and Shane Aston
in recognition of their medal winning performances at the national
championships. Shane has been one of the best young javelin throwers in
ireland in recent years and 2012 season was no exception. He also joined the
national combined events development squad whre he will hone his skills in
the various disciplines that make up the decathlon. Nathan is a very
exciting sprinting talent who has notched up a string of championship
winning performances in club and schools athletics over the 100m and 200m.

Moira Peppard won the masters track award winner again this year for medal
winning performances at the Leinster, Irish and British masters track and
field championships in both the 100m and 200m.

Ann Tobin won the masters cross country award for county and provincial cross country
performances last winter and the county half marathon in March. it was her first time to
win the overall masters award. David Hawcroft shared the mens masters cross country award
with Tommy Maher, Dunshaughlin AC which was earned through his runs at the
international masters cross country and various high profile ultra running
events including the Connemara Ultra and the Kielder Forest Run.

Presentations were also made to the most consistant performers during the
year at the many local races that make up the Meathrunning league. In the
M40 grade Don Mahon  emerged as the overall winner. There was a very
encouraging result for Mark Melia who finished 2nd in the male senior
category in his debut season in the Meath Running League.

Scoil Mhuire won the best girls school award for their performances in the
county 2nd level schools cross country and t & f championships under the
guidance of Moira Peppard. There was a Trim connection in the boys category
when St Patricks Classical School took the best boys school. The athletics
activity at the Navan school is under the direction of Trim man and Trim AC
member Ronan Moore. Congratulations to both Moira and Ronan.

Young athletes top B division

Good night for the club at the Meath Awards presentation and dinner in the Old Darnley, Athboy. There was great excitement among the younger crew when they heard of their win in the B division of the summer league by ....2 points.

Mullingar win for Claire Smith

Claire Smith followed on from her recent success in Kildalkey with another
win in Mullingar last Sunday. Claire who clocked 3.44 in her marathon debut
won the St Lomans race with a concerted effort seeing off her nearest rival
over the last kilometre.

Trim runners at Dunboyne

Trim AC had a great turnout at the second day of the Leinster CC at
Dunboyne. Taking part were Conor McKeown, Ciara Mcgee BU11,Esha
Hughes,GU11,Hannah Gilligan, Andrea Hiney, Caoimhe Rowe,Olivia Gonsalves,
Lilian Brady, Niamh Fahy, Emma Rennick. GU13, David O Neill, Glen Herdman,
Gearoid McGee, BU13,Conor Daniel BU17 Ann Marie Diver, Alanna Gonsalves,
Aoife McDonnell,GU15. Dorenda McGee, intermediate women.

Remembrance Run

Athletics Ireland in association with mycharity.ie put a new event on the
athletics calendar last weekend with the Remembrance Run in the Phoenix Park.
Well over one thousand runners took part in this event. Race director Frank
Greally described it as having a special remembrance theme of family or
friends who have passed on, or who are currently struggling with illness or
other life challenges.
"The month of November is a time of remembrance for everyone at year's end -
an ideal time to remember family or friends passed and present, and to
celebrate our own gift of days,"
Taking part from Trim AC were Brian Cully who completed the course in 21.47
and Laura Cotter 23.22
.On Saturday morning Ann Tobin finished fifth woman
in the MCD 8Mile trail run around the Phoenix Park.

Trim on the trails

Taking part in the Fighting Blindness Glendalough 15km trail race were Conor Daniel, Brian Cully, Stuart DanielCiaran Tobin. Crisp clear and chilly conditions. Steep wooded inclines and stunning views on the return journey made this a memorable event for a deserving cause.

Tri an Mhi November Duathlon

Trim AC were out in numbers for the Tri and Mhi club duathlon in Summerhill. Round of applause for Pearse Fahy , Michelle White and colleagues for organising another quality event. Denise Molloy put in a great effrot to finish 2nd female. Great cycling effort from Quinton Bourke so soon after his marathon efforts.
