Trim runners fighting blindness

The wonderful autumn setting of Glendalough was the venue for the second Fighting Blindness 15km trail race on Saturday 5th November. The course took runners through the monastic area of Seven Churches for the early stages of the race. It then passed the lakeshore before climbing past Poulanass Waterfall continuing towards the highest point of the course at 1680 metres. The descent was fast and furious along firetrails towards the village of Laragh then thrugh some tight bends to finish at the Green Road in the heart of Glendalough.
Trim AC had two runners taking part. Declan Swords finished in 16th overall in a field of two minutes faster than last year in 73.31 and Ciaran Tobin finished in a time of 85.32.
